Bergamot Essential Oil Pure

Bergamot Essential Oil Pure

Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil

Citrus Aurantium Bergamia peel Oil, or Bergamot Essential Oil, is cold pressed from the rind of the bergamot fruit, known for it's fresh, citrusy, slightly spicy scent. It is widely used in aromatherapy, perfumery and skincare for it's uplifting, mood-boosting, antiseptic and skin-balancing properties. It helps reduce stress, tone skin and provides a natural fragrance.

Aroma: sparkling, floral-citrus—zesty like lemon/orange but softer, with a gentle lavender-like sweetness.

Typical composition

  • Linalyl acetate ~28% → silky, floral body

  • Linalool ~9% → fresh floral lift

  • d-Limonene ~40% → bright citrus top

Physical data

  • Colorless to pale green/yellow, mobile liquid

  • Oil/ethanol-soluble; insoluble in water

  • Flash point ~60–65 °C

  • Oxidation raises irritation risk → store cool, full, and tightly closed

Applications

Fine fragrance

  • EDP/Perfume (ethanol): 1–12% of the fragrance concentrate (higher in colognes/eaux fraîches).

  • Diffusers/aromatherapy: 3–8 drops per 100 mL water (device-dependent).

  • Roles: top-note sparkle, bridges citrus to florals, adds elegance to tea, lavender, and gourmand styles.

Personal care (Cosmetics)

  • Leave-on (lotions, face/body oils): 0.05–0.6% typical.

  • Rinse-off (shower gel, shampoo, hand wash): 0.2–1.0%.

  • Bar soap/syndet: 0.5–2%.

Home fragrance (non–skin contact)

  • Candles / wax melts: 5–9% of wax (often blended with lavender, cedarwood, vanilla/benzoin for throw).

  • Reed diffusers (e.g., Augeo): 10–20% EO.

  • Room/linen sprays: 0.2–1% with a proper solubiliser; patch-test fabrics.
